Experience 

Judge Edward V. Torack practiced law for over 33 years prior to his appointment to the NJ Superior Court bench in January 1996. He is a 1962 graduate of Fordham University School of Law and obtained his bachelor’s degree from Seton Hall University in 1959. In 2003, he was granted a Fordham Law School Distinguished Alumnus Award. He served in the Bergen Vicinage Family Division after his appointment in 1996. He retired from the Bench in August 2008. He served as Acting Presiding Judge, Family Division, in the Bergen Vicinage. During his tenure, he primarily resolved FM dissolution matters along with pre and post-judgment motions. He has been an active participant in the Barry Croland Family Law Inn of Court and the Bergen County Family Bench/Bar Committee. He has mentored many judges prior to and under the Comprehensive Judicial Orientation Program for newly assigned Family Part judges. He served on the faculty at the Annual Judicial College. He has touched and settled thousands of family cases.
