Christopher P. DePhillips, Esq.

Christopher P. DePhillips is an Attorney with over 30 years of experience.  He is a graduate of Georgetown University and Seton Hall University School of Law.  During his career, Chris has served in various roles as outside counsel and in-house counsel.  He previously was a Partner at the Porzio Bromberg & Newman and Gibbons law firms.   Most recently, he served as General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer of Porzio Life Sciences, an RLDatix Company.   On April 15, 2024, Chris became a Partner of our firm, which is now known as Bernstein DePhillips & Kalosieh, LLP.  

 

Chris has substantial experience in litigation, trial practice and appellate practice.  He also counsels clients in the areas of contract/commercial law, business law, corporate law, and mergers & acquisitions.  He has wide-ranging experience in employment law, regulatory affairs and compliance.   Chris has a deep understanding of legal issues affecting municipalities and counties.   He has years of experience in crisis management and project management.   Finally, he is available to assist clients with ADR, mediation and arbitration.

 

In his public life, Chris is a Member of the State Legislature, having first been elected to the State Assembly in 2017.   He currently serves as the Conference Leader of the Assembly Republican Caucus.  He also serves as a Member of the Assembly Transportation Committee and the Science, Innovation & Technology Committee.   Chris previously served as Mayor of the Township of Wyckoff where he also served on the Township Committee for 3 years.   Additionally, he served for 6 years as a Commissioner of the Northwest Bergen County Utilities Authority.


Chris resides in Wyckoff with his wife, Patti, and they have 4 children.
